In the Cornish Times newsroom we’ve again been busy producing three editions of your favourite local paper packed with news: the main edition, the new Saltash edition and the new Bodmin edition.

The main edition leads with the story of how a village near Liskeard has secured funding for an electric van to provide community transport for local people, helping to reduce social isolation in the process. Inside we also feature an appeal from Liskeard and District Museum for more volunteers.

The Saltash edition leads with the story of how swotting up on European football statistics for a radio show has won one sports fan from the town a trip to see a match between Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid – although recent Catalan civil unrest has now delayed the encounter. Inside we also have pictures from Cornwall College Saltash, a production by Saltash Players and Saltash Community School.

The Bodmin edition leads with news that hopes are high that a new community bus service will be introduced around the town, helping not only the less mobile but also boosting opportunities for club, group and school activities. We also report on a couple from Bodmin who took part in a rally to Monte Carlo via the Swiss Alps and Turin, and how children from the area’s schools can take part in a free activity day focused on The Trafalgar Way and Admiral Nelson’s famous victory in 1805.

In all editions we also feature an in-depth report into the inquest into the tragic death near Bath of a popular teacher from Cornwall whose car was hit by a vehicle travelling at over 100mph on a single carriageway A road.

Other stories include complaints that trade in a South East Cornwall town is being hit by roadworks, and delight in the area’s towns and villages lacking bank branches after Barclays did a U-turn over people being able to draw cash over post office counters.

We also have lots of your community news and pictures and regular columns such as Ray Roberts’ Nature Watch, your Letters, TV Choice and latest Books. This week’s editions also have Farming, Leisure, Antiques, Property and Motoring sections and a preview of a revision to the route for Santa’s annual visit to Torpoint and the Rame Peninsula masterminded by the local Lions.

There are also 11 pages of Sport with content tailored to the three editions.

Find all of this and more in this week’s Cornish Times editions, in shops from today (Friday).
