WORK from the Rame School of Artists will form the basis of an exhibition in Calstock in the coming weeks. The Limekiln Gallery’s Spring Show will feature a diverse range of work by artists and sculptors based at Maker Heights on the Rame Peninsula. The movement includes internationally-known artists such as Heath Hearn and Steve Joy, locally renowned artists Paul Cain Smith and Katy Brown, and the ‘fascinating, and difficult to categorise’ naive artists Charlie Wildy and Nicola White. Ceramicist Jill Holland and sculptor Jim Wooley will also exhibit pieces in the show, and another ingredient is provided by students from the University of Plymouth, who are mentored at Maker by the artists in residence.’ The exhibition at the Limekiln Gallery covers the entire breadth of the group, incorporating collections by all the key players in an attempt to illustrate what is currently happening in each artist’s world,’ said Bernie Hawes of the Limekiln, who added: ‘Some exceptional pieces are being shown here for the first time.’ The Spring Show exhibition will run daily (except Mondays) until Thursday, May 12.
