Raleigh International are looking for over 25 year olds in SE Cornwall to take part in challenging introductory weekends on Dartmoor, to qualify for volunteer staff positions on the Millennium Awards expedition to Ghana in october.
Accountants, photographers, outdoor instructors, doctors, nurses and professionals with experience of working with young people are all needed for their valuable skills on expedition.
Former international staff member Matt Heasman went to Belize as a project manager in 1996. He said: 'It was a powerful experience, which gave me a new outlook on life and what you can achieve. I learnt a lot of new skills such as decicion making, leadership and communication , which I now apply to my role as Youth Affairs Officer in the Devon and Cornwall police force'.
Matt will be part of the Raleigh training team assessing potential expedition staff members on the selection weekends to be held at Kelly College, Tavistock, this weekend, April 7-9 and on April 14-15.
