RACHEL Hevesi, from the Monkey Sanctuary Trust, took part in The Great North Run, the world's biggest half-marathon on Sunday. Rachel donated money from the run to the trust which is dedicated to the conservation and welfare of primates both in South Africa and the UK. The trust is currently campaigning to end the primate pet trade in this country, with Rachel's run one of several fundraising events to generate money ensuring that the trust's rescue centre in Cornwall can be extended. 'So far, the run has nearly raised my target of £1,500. Knowing I had so much support definitely helped me when I was running,' said Rachel. The next two months will see the trust continue with its fundraising efforts with a special adopter's day and a South American evening to be held at the Eden Project.
