Competitive rabbit showing will make a return to the Royal Cornwall Show in June (8–10).
Last year show organisers were forced to cancel the section at the event after a new strain of the deadly Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD2) was discovered in the country.
Restrictions placed on competitive showing coupled with a vaccination program have been successful in halting the spread of the virulent disease, allowing competitive rabbit showing to resume.
Sharon Bresland, honorary secretary of the show’s fur section, is pleased the rabbits will be returning to Wadebridge in the summer: ’We are looking forward to seeing lots of familiar and new faces over the three days visiting the fur section.’
