CELEBRATIONS have been staged in South East Cornwall to mark the Queen becoming the country’s longest-serving monarch.

At Torpoint Nursery and Infant School, pupils enjoyed a ‘Right Royal Celebration’. Mayor and mayoress Mike and Val Pearn sat down with the children for a tea party and also helped three of the school’s youngsters as they raised the Union Flag in the playground. Pupils had written a letter to the Queen congratulating her on her achievement, said headteacher Elizabeth Carney-Haworth.
