The organisers of the Morval Vintage Rally, which has come to an end after 40 years, presented a £5,000 cheque to Cornwall Blood Bikes.

The charity, whose volunteers transport blood and other essential medical supplies between hospitals and health centres, said it is the biggest single donation it has ever received.

Morval is soon to have a new committee and the event venue is to change for 2017, but Cornwall Blood Bikes will be there.

The charity has written to rally organisers to express profound thanks for their generosity.
