THREE youth projects are to receive a total of £40,000 in funding for their work.

Saltash Town Council has split the cash support between three groups providing youth services.

The Core community youth centre (formerly K3) provides young people with activities, support and a place to call their own, so £15,000 of funding will help its cafe providing real work experience, training and support.

A £15,000 grant to Livewire, which offers support to young people through music and traditional youth work, will fund improvements to lighting at its Waterside base.

Another £10,000 will go the Junkyard indoor skate park.
