POST Office services are set to be restored in Looe’s Barbican area.

The branch within the Bargain Booze store at the top of East Looe closed abruptly in October of last year.

Now the Post Office is proposing to open a new ‘local-style’ branch within the Gilletts Spar shop on Bay View Road.

No opening date has been confirmed, but the Post Office is inviting residents of Looe to express their views on the plan.

‘The Barbican Post Office would be one of our new local-style branches where Post Office services would be delivered from an open-plan till alongside the retail counter,’ said a Post Office spokesperson.

The branch would be open seven days a week, and opening hours would be increased in comparison with the previous branch by more than eight hours per week.

Customers and local people are being invited to share their feedback, either by visiting www.postofficeviews.co.uk and using the branch code 331539, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by phone on 03452 660115. The consultation will close on August 7.
