Lowly Henries A must be glad they do not have to face the Ship Inn Dales again this year. For the second time they failed to trouble the leaders, and only a single consolation frame from Birdy averted the whitewash. Marcus Le Page, Peter Ivey, Martin Holtam, John Storer and Jason Bond (8-baller) were the instruments of torture.

Second placed Marquee C kept the growing gap to single figures (just) by inflicting more damage on Henries. This time it was the D team that was on the receiving end of a 4-1 score line, as Gerald Stevens, Kieron Gregson, Mark Nicholas and Richard Jenkin took the spoils. Karl Bowden replied.

The Pirates lost ground in third place, as close rivals Pelynt B ran out winners at the Ship. Steve Eastley, Glen Northcott and Dave Ede secured the victory with Colin Penhaligan and Jason Toms (8-baller) hitting back.

The Marquee B matched the efforts of their C team with a 4-1 victory over the Russell via John Kelly, Andy Young, Roy Saxby and Andy Champion but Marquee A were unable to complete the hat-trick, away to the Legion A and losing 3-2. Ron Hutley, Alan Phillips and Shaun Wakeham scored for the Legion and Matt and Ali Julian (8-baller) replied.

The Wreckers consolidated their fifth spot when Matt Leslie, Darrell Hidson and Phil Matthews eased them to a 3-2 victory at the Boscarn. Vince Beall and Dave Marks have been in fine form for the Drifters this season and were again the saviours of their team.

Results: Drifters 2-3 Wreckers (6-7); Henries A 0-5 Ship Inn Dales (1-10); Marquee A 2-3 legion A (5-7); Marquee C 4-1 Henries D (8-5); Pirates 2-3 Pelynt B (5-6); Russell 1-4 Marquee B (3-8).

Eight Ballers - Jason Bond (Ship Inn Dales) v Richard Toms (Henries A); Ali Julian (Marquee A) v Kevin Hinton (Legion A); Jason Toms (Pirates) v Phil Hearndon (Pelynt B).

With no card arriving from Bar 1 A v Jolly A it was all change at the top as Mark Lewis, Franco Micelli, Ryan Leslie, Lee Bryant and Jon Perry combined for Noughts Aís first 5-0 scoreline of the season, against the Globe Trotters. The result puts them 3 points clear of the Jolly.

The Boscarn B failed to make any headway as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat at the Ship Polperro B, in spite of an 8-baller by Brian Bowdler. Mark Clark, Joe Kidger and Alan Winterson won for the Ship and Richard Kitt and Brian Bowdler replied.

A 4-1 victory at the expense of the Lugger helped the Bombarders to move up the table but, with all teams except the top 3 separated by just 7 points, there are no hiding places in Division 2. Matt Edwards, Brett Pearn, Barry Holloway and Barry Evans struck for Bombarders whilst Paul Toms gained the consolation for Lugger.

Wes Garaghon and Aaron Spry gave Henries E a solid start against the Bullers before Neil Byfield and Rob Dewe pegged them back but Matt Barton secured a victory for Henries in the decider.

Results: Bombarders 4-1 Lugger (9-4); Globe Trotters 0-5 Noughts A (2-10); Henries E 3-2 Bullers (6-5); Ship Polperro B 3-2 Boscarn B (6-6).

Eight Ballers ñ Brian Bowdler (Boscarn B) v Rob Lunn (Ship Polperro B).

Keeping up with the Jones's is a difficult task nowadays. Yet another 8-baller for Doug gives him breathing space at the top of the '8-baller' table and also clinched victory for his side after Gary Alford and Steve Fisher had started the ball rolling. Dawn Trew and Martin Hamlet made the score respectable.

The Boscarn C are still chasing hard; Darren Evans, Chris Gowing and Piran Clements (8-baller) gave them the victory over Pelynt A despite the efforts of Leon Harvey and John Gascoyne.

The Social A beat the Marquee D through Chris Powell, Paul Goldthorpe and Steve Spree and close to within two points of Jolly B, but the Jolly now have two games outstanding and I should be most surprised if they are not in the shake-up when the fat lady sings.

Boscarn E's Tom Holtam won the decider against Bar 1 B to complete a 3-2 victory following wins for Tracy Grew and Mandy Pearce. Richard Chapman and Darren Reynolds were on the mark for Bar 1.

For the third consecutive week every match finished 3-2.

Results: Boscarn E 3-2 Bar 1 B (7-6); Pelynt A 2-3 Boscarn C (5-7); Social 3-2 Marquee D (7-5); Strugglers B 3-2 Henries C (7-6).

Eight Ballers - Doug Jones (Strugglers B) v Sue Allman (Henries C).

The Legion Foreigners saw their unbeaten record crumble as Noughts B pulled off a Houdini act after falling behind to the runaway leaders.

It started as just another day at the office for the Foreigners as first Andy Thomson and then Marcus Hicks did the business, but then the fight back began as Toby Leslie saw off the challenge of Matthew Brett. Paul Hoskin then gave the same treatment to Geoff Hicks and finally Andy Bryant disposed of Tony Modesto to cap off a truly remarkable evening. The result means that Ship Inn Dales (Div.1) are now the only unbeaten team in all four divisions.

The three chasing teams all took advantage of Foreigners slip-up: second placed Strugglers A won 4-1 at Millendreath, courtesy of Ben and Ian Jones, Phil Clark and Billy Hayter and they now trail by just seven points.

The Crumplehorn achieved the same margin in victory at the Gamblers via Martin and Lynda Jordan, Phil Richardson and Ashley Thomas (8- baller).

The Destroyers also scored 4 at the Copley Arms thanks to Stuart Butler, Andy Grant, Chris Pannewitz and Steve Jones.

Results: Noughts B 3-2 Foreigners (8-6); Copley 1-4 Destroyers (3-9); Gamblers 1-4 Crumplehorn (5-9); Millendreath B 1-4 Strugglers A (3-8).

League Team Knockout

The final of the Team Knockout Cup will be contested by Henries D, who beat Marquee A 3-2 in their semi-final, and Ship Inn Dales who beat Strugglers B by the same margin.
