Cornwall County pool teams were in action on Sunday, April 9, this time making the short journey to Bristol.

In high spirits after a narrow loss to English county champs Devon Cornwall were in good spirits and at the halfway stage the A team found themselves 11 each and unlucky not to be in front.

But with the more experienced Bristol side pushing hard Cornwall fell away and were finally beaten 20-24.

Although Bristol fielded five pros, Cornwall had two players not troubling the scorers and will feel unlucky not to have got a result.

Again Andy Hicks (Pensilva) and Brian Phillips (Taphouse) were selected for the A team, this time winning three out of four matches and playing superb pool with both beating professional along the way.

With the B team winning 24-20 and the ladies winning 26-18 all in all it was a pretty good day for Cornwall.

The next match is Somerset at home at Bodmin Pool and Snooker club on May 13 (5.30).
