Pelynt B travelled to the Rowett B and looked to be heading for only their second defeat of the season as they were 3-1 down before they knew it. Roger Pill and Dennis Shaw beat Max Facey and Nigel Davis only their second defeats of the season. Rat Tamblyn pulled one back for Pelynt at Mike Pengelly's expense only for Dave Nutty to put the Rowett 3-1 up beating Baz 'Tornado Tonsils' Phillips 2-0.

Stuart Gray and Martin Dunn pulled it back to three all with distance wins over Malcolm Taper and Darren Thomas. With the score all square you would have to fancy the Rowett to win the doubles as Pelynt's doubles record is so poor. But amazingly Pelynt won all three to give their title hopes a boost with a final 6-3 scoreline.

After their first win in three years last week the Blue Peter came crashing back to earth on the end of a 9-0 loss to the 3 Pilchards. The victorious Pilchards team were Tina Dicks, Ashley Courts, Deano Dicks, Ennis Puckey, John Dalton and Mickey Lawford.

The Noughts kept pace with the leaders with a good 7-2 win over the Legion. The first four singles went to the Noughts with wins from Grant Guild, Cess Pethick, Jerry Jago and Andy Grant. Dick Hinton and Mick Curle picked up the Legion's two points. All three doubles went to the Noughts.

The Caradon had yet another close game this time against the Ship A. After the singles it was three a piece with Peter Paris, Jim Svenson and Arther Curry winning for the Campers whilst Alan Brown, George Wildman and Alan Winterson replied for the Ship. The Campers went 4-3 up winning the first doubles but the Ship came back winning the last two for victory.

The Millhouse equalled their best win of the season when they beat the Ship B 7-2. The Mill won five of the singles through John Gregory, Nicola Toms, Micky Knight, John Lawrence and Chris Sargent. Justin Newman got Ships only singles point and the Mill had the best of the doubles 2-1.

Pelynt A's turnaround in fortune continued this week as they became the first team outside of the top two to defeat the Rowett A this season (could this be due to the return of Mark 'The Power' Palmer?) The singles were shared three a piece with win for Pelynts Dean Haynes, Mark Palmer and Joan Geach whilst Kev Lee, Mark Lewis and Malcome Libby hit back for the Rowett. Pelynt has the better of the doubles to make the final score 5-4.
