A MAN is mounting a roof-top protest at the office of South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray in Liskeard over what he says are ‘injustices in the family justice system.’

Peter McMurdie, who is part of the Stop the War on Dads campaign, says he has not seen his teenage children for three-and-a-half years.

The father-of-two, from Looe, says he has been ‘ignored’ by Sheryll Murray since she met with him in December 2015.

Mrs Murray, who is in Westminster today, said she contacted the Children’s Minister on his behalf after meeting Mr McMurdie.

‘Whilst I am sympathetic to the plight of fathers who wish to have access to their children, individual cases should be dealt with through the legal system,’ she said.

‘What my constituent has done is dangerous and puts himself at risk. It is clearly not a sensible way of proceeding.’

Mr McMurdie has been on the roof since 7.30 this morning with the intention of staying all day.
