Dan Rogerson, the former Liberal Democrat MP for North Cornwall, will fight to reclaim the seat he held for ten years from Conservative Scott Mann at the next General Election.
Mr Rogerson has been chosen as the party’s prospective candidate for North Cornwall.
The Liberal Democrats say this follows reports that the new Prime Minister might go to the country early.
’I am really proud to have been selected for my home constituency of North Cornwall,’ said Mr Rogerson.
’My three campaign priorities will be securing more investment and jobs for north and east Cornwall, encouraging more genuinely affordable housing for local people and bringing more decision-making from Westminster and Whitehall to people in Cornwall. I will also engage with local people to listen to their concerns.
’The Liberal Democrats are well placed to fight a general election, whenever it is held, and I am raring to go. In the last few weeks, we have signed up over 17,500 new members, a number of them here in North Cornwall.’
