Cornwall Council’s Cabinet has confirmed proposals it says will give local people a greater say in decisions.
Members decided to strengthen engagement with local communities through Community Network Panels (CNPs).
Key areas will include:
Strengthening the links between the panels, town and parish councils, Cornwall Council, other authorities and residents.

Housing estate planned for St Austell given general welcome
Cornwall road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight
Planning: Irreversible harm caused to building among biggest planning stories of 2025Giving panels more of a say on important local issues.
Increasing public engagement via the panels.
Actions which will be further explored include:
Giving CNPs more of a say over specific issues like strategy, local service delivery and enforcement and projects such as local transport schemes.
Giving local people a direct say in how, and where, public funds can be used to address local requirements.
Improving public awareness of CNPs.
Giving CNPs a more clearly defined role in progressing devolution.
