The House of Commons cross-party Committee on Exiting the EU will be visiting Cornwall tomorrow to hear evidence about the economic challenges and opportunities of Brexit for the county.
Chair Hilary Benn and fellow MPs will be meeting Cllr John Pollard, Leader of Cornwall Council, and the authority’s chief executive Kate Kennally. Kim Conchie, chief executive of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, will also be there.
The committee will also hear evidence from David Rodda MBE, rural delivery manager for Cornwall Development Company, NFU county adviser Patrick Aubrey-Fletcher, local nature partnership board member Dr Laurence Couldrick and Nicola Lloyd, head of inward investment for the organisation Invest in Cornwall.
The hearings, at County Hall in Truro, will form part of the Committee’s inquiry into the UK’s negotiating objectives for withdrawal from the EU.
It is part of a programme of visits to different parts of the UK that the Committee is undertaking to get beyond Westminster to gather a range of views about Brexit.
