People in and around Launceston are being invited to find out more about health provision and Cornwall Council’s budget at the Launceston Community Network Panel meeting at 6.30pm on Thursday, December 14 in Launceston Town Hall.

Cornwall Council leader Adam Paynter will be on hand to brief the panel on proposals for Cornwall Council’s 2018-19 budget and answer questions.

There will also be an update on the medical centre and an opportunity to hear the latest on the NHS Sustainability and Transformation Plan for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

In addition to this, there will be displays about the work of some of the community groups in the Launceston Community Network area that received Cornwall Councillor Community Chest grants in the past year.

Cornwall Councillor Neil Burden, chair of the panel, said: ‘We’ll be talking about big issues that affect everyone in the Launceston Community Network area, such as health provision and Cornwall Council’s budget.’

The panel meets quarterly to discuss matters that affect the local area. The panel’s current priorities include local health provision, road and broadband infrastructure, and neighbourhood planning.

The Launceston Community Network Panel includes all five Cornwall Councillors for the area and representatives of parishes including Altarnun, Lewannick, Lezant, North Hill, South Petherwin and Stoke Climsland.

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
