Torpoint’s Police Cadets were joined by proud family and friends at an awards ceremony in the town’s Council Chambers.

Certificates were presented for voluntary work carried out by the young people in the district, which contributes to ASDAN (an awards and curriculum development body) credits on their CVs.

One of the cadets also received a Duke of Cornwall award for additional work researching community and neighbourhood safety issues.

Certificates celebrating the 10th anniversary of Police cadets in Devon and Cornwall as a whole were also handed out – the Torpoint and Rame group was founded in 2011.

‘All of the cadets had family members present to witness them receiving their certificates from Police Inspector Julian Morris and Torpoint mayor John Crago,’ said Neighbourhood Policing Team Leader Sgt Angela Crow.
