Voting will take place tomorrow (Thursday) on whether a Neighbourhood Plan document should come into force.
Residents of Liskeard are being encouraged to take part in the referendum, and polling stations will be open from 7am - 10pm.
If local people vote ’yes’, then the Neighbourhood Plan will be used by Cornwall Council when it makes planning decisions affecting the town up to 2030.
The Neighbourhood Plan document has been several years in the making; many residents, traders and groups have helped to shape its policies.
The document sets out priorities such as the creation of employment sites, the use of brownfield land for new housing over development on fields, the protection and improvement of green spaces for leisure and relaxation, and the boosting of the town’s infrastructure as new development takes place.
