PLANS to convert a former town centre pub into flats have been put on pause.
The former Fountain Hotel in Liskeard has stood empty for around seven years, and owner Russell Peake hopes to make alterations and create three flats within the building.
Now, a planning application submitted to Cornwall Council in the autumn of 2017 has been withdrawn, while the applicant works through the advice given by Historic England. The building is thought to date to the mid 19th Century and is Grade II Listed.
A spokesperson for Liskeard Town Council said: ‘The application has been withdrawn (for the applicant) to consider and incorporate the advice given by Historic England. They may do some immediate necessary repairs before resubmitting the application.’
