THE second phase of a new housing development could see 19 more homes being built in a village.
In 2013, Eliot Design and Build constructed 15 houses at Widegates.
Now the developer hopes to finalise the second phase of the scheme, with 10 affordable rentals and nine open market homes.
After a public consultation in the village, the plans were amended, says the applicant, and now include a higher number of parking spaces.
A suggestion that speeds be reduced on the A387 adjacent to the development has been made on the basis of local people’s concerns.
Pre-application advice from Cornwall Council has also been taken into account within the full planning application, says agent Mitchell Architects, who reports that ‘the street scenes and layout were credited with being appropriate and appealing’.
