PART of a National Coastwatch lookout building could be refurbished to create a holiday let with ‘some of the most stunning views in the world’.

The Mount Edgcumbe Country Park has submitted a planning application to transform a disused part of the building near Rame Head into a holiday cottage.

The building, which is the only built structure within its immediate surroundings, currently houses a National Coast Watch viewing room which is open to the public to visit, as well as being a Maritime and Coastguard Agency station.

The holiday let would be created within part of the building once used as toilets, and would not impinge on the use by the other agencies, says the park management.
