A CONTROVERSIAL planning application for a new business development will be debated at a public meeting tonight.

Dobwalls Parish Council has organised the meeting in the village’s United Church from 7pm after objections to a planning application from local firm Pearce Fine Homes.

Pearce wants to build the business park on a site off the Twelvewoods roundabout. As well as office suites and business units for storage and distribution, the new estate would include an office building for Pearce itself.

But the proposal led to a stormy parish meeting in April at which dozens of people objected to the scheme, and people have said they fear Dobwalls faces a return to its traffic problems of the past.

The Parish Council deferred a decision on its recommendation to Cornwall Council planners and set up tonight’s second consultation.
