The owners of the ‘highest pub in Cornwall’ have been given permission to build a house on land next to their car park.

Outline planning permission has been granted by Cornwall Council for the construction of a detached family house behind the Cheesewring Hotel on Bodmin Moor.

Details such as the design, scale and layout of the house, access and drainage will follow in a future reserved matters application, said the agent, Pollard Architectural.

Linkinhorne Parish Council has requested that the new house be tied to the Cheesewring Hotel by a condition. In a comment on the local authority planning website, the parish council said it was ‘disappointed in the lack of detail provided within the proposal’.

It said that due to the lack of information in the outline planning application, it was unable to make a decision on whether to support or object to the plan.
