A former industrial site in St Blazey could at long last be developed if plans to use the land for housing take shape.
The former Kelly’s Ice Cream factory site is owned by Amy Properties, and the company has attempted to bring forward several industrial or employment schemes over the last decade, said agent CSJ Planning.
Permission was granted in 2007 for 15 industrial units and, since then, various industrial and retail projects have been explored.
These have ‘failed to materialise’ due to a lack of investment, despite strenuous efforts by the landowner, says the agent.
Now pre-planning advice is being sought from Cornwall Council over a potential development of 30 houses, 10 of which would be affordable.
