PLANS to open a farm shop with a range of facilities in a field at North Penhale, Dobwalls, have suffered a set back with planners.

David and Richard Northey wanted to open a farm shop, cafe, children’s play area, education room and community allotment on a field to the south of Dobwalls.

The applicants sought pre-application advice from Cornwall Council.

Senior Development Officer, George Shirley said: ‘At this stage, from the limited information provided, I am not convinced there is a case for the proposed farm shop and cafe which falls within an unsustainable, open countryside location. I would therefore not encourage a future submission as I do not believe it would be supported by officers.’
