A proposal to build up to six new houses at Minions would be unlikely to get the go-ahead in its current form, says Cornwall Council.

Landowner Alan Bolitho has sought advice from the local authority on the viability of his plans for a small-scale residential development on a field at the edge of the village.

In a pre-application statement, the applicant’s agent, Rolfe Planning Partnership, says two detached houses have already been built on the field in question over the past 20 years, and that the new homes would be a continuation of the development.

In his advice, planning officer James Hills said the proposed housing develop

ment was ‘not well related’ to existing buildings in the village and ‘would most likely generate harm to the appearance and character of the area’.
