PUBLIC meetings will be the chance for residents of the Morval area to have a say in the future of their parish.
The Morval Neighbourhood Development Plan is another step closer to being adopted and is about to go on display.
Despite the restrictions caused by the pandemic, the Steering Group has continued to keep parishioners informed and encourage feedback by means of letters delivered to every home, use of dedicated Facebook and email accounts and updates on the parish website, in the online ‘Outlook’ magazine and in the Cornish Times.
The group says it has been encouraged by the responses received from residents, which has allowed them to complete a draft set of policies.
These were then discussed in depth with Morval Parish Council and a further draft, along with supporting documents, was sent to Cornwall Council’s NDP team. Following advice from that team, a few adjustments were made, and the Steering Group has now been authorised to carry out a six-week public consultation period, which will end on Monday, November 8.
Thanks to the lifting of restrictions, face-to-face public events are now possible, so the full Neighbourhood Development Plan will be displayed, allowing for continued social distancing, in the following venues:
n Widegates Village Hall
Saturday, October 9, 10am – 12 noon
Wednesday, October 20, 10am – 12 noon
Saturday, October 23, 2pm – 4pm
Saturday, October 30, 10am – 12 noon
n St Wenna’s Church
Saturday, October 30, 2pm – 4pm
Wednesday, November 3, 2pm – 4pm
Feedback is invited on paper or verbally at these events, by phone or via the NDP email or Facebook accounts. All details are available on the parish website at https://morvalwidegates.weebly.com/morval-ndp.html
