A HALF-built and eyesore bridge will finally be completed as part of a wider housing development, says Cornwall Council.

The ‘bridge to nowhere’ over Lake Lane in Liskeard was intended to connect two residential areas of the town, but progress ceased abruptly when the owner of land to the south went bankrupt.

Cornwall Council has recently purchased this area of land, known as Maudlin Farm.

In a presentation to the Town Council and members of the public, senior director of Housing Jon Lloyd-Owen and strategic manager for Housing Services Tony Lee laid out plans to build up to 55 houses, to adopt Boveway Drive, which is the access road to the south, and to finish off the bridge.
