Lostwithiel Town Council has decided not to support a plan for the conversion of a redundant bank into four units of living accommodation, until comments made by the Cornwall Council planning officer are addressed. Developers Kildrum Management Ltd have been advised by principal development officer Patrick James that as it stands the scheme for 17 Queen Street would be refused permission on two counts: firstly, each of the four units would fail to meet the Government’s internal space standards; secondly, the first floor for Unit 3 would ‘materially degrade the outlook’ for occupants of the existing first-floor flat. The officer has suggested that consideration is given to a reduction in the number of units proposed.
