A TRAINEE marine engineering officer from the Tamar Valley has been named the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s (MCA) Officer Trainee of the Year.

Tristan Greaney, who is from Gunnislake, was nominated by his place of study, Blackpool and the Fylde College, and by his training company, Princess Cruises, for the prestigious award.
