Pensilva PFC raced from Littlehampton in the penultimate race of the season. The nine members' 42 birds were released at 1pm into a light easterly wind. The birds encountered some rain and mist at the home end resulting in patchy returns.
Taking first and second places was DW Renfree of Quethiock on 1034.783 and 1026.213 and flying times of 4:49:23 and 4:51:48. G and P Skews of Pensilva took third place on 940.960 and a flying time of 5:20:30. DW renfree won first and second 5p and 10p pools and the single nom. DG Snowdon and Son won the 20p noms.
Next week's race is the final of the season and is from Eastbourne.

Last weekend saw the Saltash Pigeon Club racing from Littlehampton on Saturday. The young birds were released at 13:15 with little wind. It resulted in a difficult race, the birds ran into persistent rain which was not forecasted. The birds returned scattered and less than half returned on the day.
Winning the race were Messrs Mugridge and Woolley, their bird covering the 164-mile journey in 3:59:00, recording an average velocity of 1209.809 yards per minute, just over 41 mph. This young bird also won last week's race. Six members sent 73 birds.
The weather cleared on Sunday and the birds were coming home all day with only a few missing at the end of the day. Two members failed to clock in on the day.
