Pigeon Racing update

Pensilva PFC raced from Lynington instead of Fareham this week. The members birds were liberated at 7.30 into a Light East wind a fast race and close result followed.

Taking first place this week were G and P Skews of Pensilva with a velocity of 1554.771 and a flying time of 2.21.20.

Quethiock flyer DW Renfree took second place with a flying time of 2.21.21 and a velocity of 1543.919.

Mr and Mrs J Thomas of Darite claimed third place on a velocity of 1537.048 and a flying time of 2.25.21.

G and P Skews won the single 12 bird nom and first 5p and 10p pools.

D W Renfree won second 5p and 10p pools.

Two members returned on clocks

Eastborne was the venue for the members of the Saltash Pigeon Club last weekend, it was the last inland race for the old bird season.

With thunder showers forcasted for Saturday the race controller had the birds released at 07.00 in a helping S.E. wind ensuing a last race. Winning the race Messrs R. Mugredge - S. Woolley then yearling cock bird covering the 198 mile journey in 3hrs 19mins 08secs recording an average velocity of 1752.072 yards per minute just under 60mph.

Six members and just under 51 birds and returns were near 100%.
