Pensivla PFC held its first race of the 2000 season on April 8. The 14 members, 119 birds were liberated into a light east wind at 11.10 am in near perfect conditions.

Taking 1st, 2nd places was D W Renfree of Quethiock on 1407.012 ane 1403.921 with flying times of 1 hr 10.18 and 1hr 10.30.

Third place went to Richard Hicks of Dobwalls with 1392.533.

D W Renfree won 1st 5p and 10p pools. G and P Skews won 2nd 5p and 10p pools and the single nom. S G Skews won the two bird nom. Next week's race is from Yeovil.

Two members failed to clock in.

Last Saturday saw the opening of the season for the members of the Saltash Pigeon Club. Honiton was the venue and in very good weather and a light helping wind an excellent race ensued.

The winning pigeon a three year old hen bird covered the 51 mile journey in one hour 58 seconds, arriving home after an 11:15 liberation at 12:15:58. The winning bird is owned by Messrs Mugridge and Woolley. Six members sent 110 birds, there were some late arrivals but returns were good.
