Once again we are getting penalised for having so many holiday homes in Cornwall. Our Community Tax is going up by approx £70 a year when second home owners and holiday let owners who buy houses in our villages at greatly inflated prices only pay half the charges; there are, I am informed, well over 150 such properties in our area alone.
If in Wales they are charged full Community Tax, why not in Cornwall? Just think of the money it would bring in for local, district and County Councils. I know that in Cornwall we need the holidaymakers but we do not need to subsidise the owners of holiday homes.
