Two cyclists have set out from South East Cornwall to pedal all the way to Paris.

Helen Ralph of Landrake and her friend Ruth Hughes, from Tideford, will be among 1400 women aiming to cycle the 250 miles from Hampton Court Palace in London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The ride is taking place to support the Women v Cancer appeal, and so far Helen and Ruth have raised around £7000.

The campaign as a whole has brought in £500,000 so far towards research into breast, ovarian and cervical cancer research.Riders will leave London today (Thursday) and are set to arrive in the French capital on Saturday.
