Once again Liskeard Lions are about to tread the boards to present their pantomime entertainment for senior citizens and the general public. This time they have chosen Aladdin, complete with magic lamp, all the usual fun, music, and, of course, the famous Lion Dancers. All proceeds this year are to be donated to South Asia Tsunami relief through the Lion Clubs International Foundation. This ensures that the money gets to where it is needed by making grants to local Lions Clubs working on the ground in the affected areas. Performances of Aladdin are on January 27, 28, and 29, at 7.30pm in Liskeard Public Hall. The first two evenings are free performances for senior citizens as usual, although there will be a voluntary collection for anyone who wishes to contribute. The Lions have put up the price of admission to the Saturday performance to £5 for adults in order to raise as much as possible for the appeal. Tickets for the under 15's remain at £2.50. Proceeds from programme sales, and bar profits, will also go to the appeal. Free transport to and from the shows is being arranged for senior citizens from the surrounding area, and residential homes in the town. Anyone needing transport on Thursday or Friday evenings should contact Lion Mike Gregory on 07974 539586 by the end of Tuesday January 25
