With very light winds in Looe Bay, race officer Brian Carvey was forced to shorten the course to a single round, reading the conditions to perfection.

The Palfrey brothers, Joe and Billy, in their Mirror dinghy covered the fleet in textbook style to score their first win of the season, with father Clive shouting encouragement from one of the rescue boats.

Team Jaycock tried to outwit the youngsters, but in the end settled for a close second place.

In the Laser class, Peter Greenwood continued his fine start to the campaign but, with Tom Richardson moving up from Mirror class, the bar will raised.

Rob Dewe, suffering from new baby syndrome (ie. sleepless nights), had to retire early from the action as he was unable to stay awake!
