Looe town and Cornwall councillor Edwina Hannaford has donated an original picture to Looe Lifeboats to help raise funds for the organisation.

Dave Haines, operations manager for Looe Lifeboats and Jeannette Deakin, treasurer of the fund-raising committee, accepted the picture on behalf of the RNLI.

The picture is an original, one-off and depicts the new Looe lifeboat, which came into service in the last few weeks on a shout.

Edwina, a member of South East Cornwall Society of Artists, said: ‘Painting is my relaxation and helps retain a sense of balance. I was very pleased to make this donation to such a worthy charity. I was inspired by both the crew and fund-raising teams in Looe who make such a valuable contribution to the ongoing success of Looe Lifeboats.’

The picture is available to anyone who would like to contribute to Looe RNLI. Presently a bid of £150 has been made.

Anyone interested in acquiring this unique painting should call Marilyn Berry, secretary of the Looe RNLI fund-raising committee on 01503.264433.
