I think the old Passmore Edwards Hospital in Liskeard should be turned into a maternity hospital, so that our children can be born in Cornwall and not Devon. The hospital is already set up, so it wouldn't take much to put in working order. It could be built on to make it bigger. Do not pull it down, use it. It's a very old building, save it.

Maternity unit I AM writing with my views on Passmore Edwards Hospital. I am a mother of one, and about to give birth again. I think the hospital should remain a hospital but as a maternity and special care unit. As a single parent and not being able to drive, travelling to Plymouth to hospital is a strain. Having to use public transport, it takes over an hour and a half to get there. The physio department should be made into the special care unit. There are many generations to come and there will be many more births in and around Liskeard. To destroy such a beautiful and pretty historic building to make it into houses/flats would be a great shame. It should be put to good use. A maternity and care unit would be more suitable.
