A lively meeting of Liskeard Chamber of Commerce this week heard a spokesman from Kivells auctioneers say the firm was confident the volume of stock passing through the town's market will increase.
He also said trading at the market has shown greater buoyancy of late, and more buyers are being encouraged to attend. The news was welcomed by members, who also discussed suggestions for a farmers' local produce market, and the significance to the whole community of the market surviving in Liskeard.
Membership of the Chamber itself is growing, and it is hoped it will be l00 strong by the end of the month. The Chamber's next meeting is on November l at l.30pm in the Lord Eliot Hotel. Items to be discussed will include the impact of the 'Liskeard Means Business' campaign.
