A farm at Landrake is opening its farm gates as part of Open Farm Sunday. Markwell Farm, on the banks of the River Tiddy, will be open for people to visit from 11am until 4pm on Sunday, June 5 There will be guided farm walks throughout the day, sheepdog demonstrations, goats, sheep and lambs, cows and calves, ponies, vintage tractors and modern machinery. There will also be local produce and craft stalls a model farm and refreshments. Markwell Farm is a 400-acre mixed family farm which has a 40 herd of cows and 300 ewes and they also grow wheat, barley and oats. This annual event is organised by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) and is aimed at anyone who is interested in food, farming or the countryside. 2016 is the 11th year that Open Farm Sunday has been running.
