A trustee and volunteer at the ECHO (East Cornwall Handicapped Organisation) Centre has been co-opted onto Liskeard Town Council.

Tyler Bennetts, who has lived in the town for the last 17 years and in the local area all his life, was one of two people who applied to fill the vacancy, after the resignation of Cllr Adam Hodgkins.

Cllr Bennetts says he believes in supporting local businesses where possible, and using local green spaces for recreation.

He also feels Liskeard has huge potential not only as a place to live and work but also for those who visit Cornwall.

He would like to see more use made of the Liskeard-Looe railway line, which he believes to be an underused resource.
