The team at Liskeard Radio have long been conscious of how important live shows are to the community and so, over the last few weeks, have strived to almost double our previous studio use.

Here are just some of the new shows;

Last week saw the welcome return of our two youngest presenters Henry and Jacob with their Metal Takeover Revival Show.

The lads, on summer break from university, are free to spend the next few weeks with us and whilst neither had been in the studio for some time they were soon re-acquainted with the tech and diving headlong into their first set with Henry leading the first half of the show.

Their show itself will air every Wednesday evening 5pm ‘til 7pm, LIVE and video-streamed, until September...if you missed it then just visit our website home page and click the ‘listen again’ button for two hours of great music and chat.

Another exciting new feature, from this Tuesday, is my own ‘Late Breakfast Show’ which will air LIVE from 10am.

Of course, I’ll be playing a more eclectic mix of tracks than I usually do plus I’ll have listener participation, news updates, local interest reports and the occasional live interview...I’m really looking forward to it and I hope you will too.

Ken Strange has been presenting his popular Giant Jukebox Show every Thursday afternoon for many months and has decided to add two new great titles to the list starting with his Movin’ and Groovin’ Rock ‘n’ Roll Show every Wednesday afternoon at 3pm featuring Bop, Boogie Jive, Stroll and Smooch plus a weekly ‘Regional Round Up’ of songs and artists from chosen states of the USA

On Fridays at 2pm, Ken’s new ‘Back to the 60s’ show is a veritable pleasure for those yearning for the days of mop tops...It has to be said that having listened to some of the original recordings of Ken in his performing days, with bands such as ‘The Set,’ I’m surprised his own music doesn’t feature in the show...he really was that good!

Now, and finally, for those listeners whose weekend starts on Friday we have a fabulous new live show entitled ‘The Weekend Warm Up.’ hosted by the inimitable Barry and Christine Green and, without doubt, the show does exactly what it says on the can!

Barry describes it as a mix of all your favourite dance classics to get you in the mood for the weekend and whether you’re going out, or just partying at home with friends, you’re assured of great music and plenty of banter with an open invite to tune in live and join the chat.

All our shows are listed on our home page calendar, available on all devices and smartspeakers via and, of course, available ‘on demand’ via that ‘listen again’ link.

The ‘LIVE’ button will enable you to see your presenters streamed from the studio and you can also contact them via our social media platforms and messenger.

Until next time, happy listening.
