A NEW St Luke's Hospice charity shop will be opened in February. Callington resident Jackie Crow is trading company manager at the charity and will officially open the shop at 4 Fore Street on Monday, February 6 as long as work is completed. Marilyn Beverley from the charity is calling on any local residents to help with the task of getting the shop ready for business and then working in it. 'We are desperately looking for staff!' said Marilyn. 'At the moment we are looking for people who can come in and give us a hand before we open the shop. 'But then we will need people to work in it – full time and part time. 'We need lots of staff, as many as possible, really.' The shop will be open from 9.30am–4.30pm Monday to Saturday, with funds going to the Plymouth-based charity's work in helping people with pain. Anyone wanting to volunteer can call 01579 382007.
