Loreal Kids 6 Swingletree 62
THIS match, played in a friendly manner, was one of the hardest games Loreal will have to play. Swingletree's experience showed through with Judy Shipton and Karen Dance dominating the centre court play. Nominated player for Loreal was Megan Moore.
Callington Community School 5 7-Up 54
A fast, friendly and competitive game, with 7-Up as dominant as Swingletree in the first game. Callington School will learn from this experience and will continue to improve as the season develops. Nominated players were Zoe Vanstone for Callington and Becky Mehew for 7-Up.
Hennings Moir 18
Penwell 16
A very close match, and although both teams started poorly, the end result was difficult to predict. Either team could have won, but managed to win in the end with an improved team performance. Nominated players were Becky Fierek for Hennings Moir and Natalie Rider for Penwell.
Callington Junior
High Five League
Gunnislake and Stoke Climsland were evely matched, play went from end to end with neither team able to score.
This was due in part to strong defence.
Gunnislake put on the pressure in the last quarter and came away with a 3-1 win. Players of the match were Lewis Burden, Simon Wakeham and Kerry Murray.
The second match saw a strong Callington side who worked well together, play Delaware II. There was some good interceptions from both teams.
Delaware II fought hard and never gave up, but they were unable to score more than one goal.
