Junior

High Five

League

Callington Junior High Five League has increased in size this year and there are now eight primary schools involved.

The first match to take place was between Delaware 1 and Callington.

Callington quickly took the lead playing some excellent attack and scoring well.

Delaware worked hard throughout but struggled to get the ball into their opponents' half.

Callington showed themselves to be the much stronger side, eventually winning 16-0.

Players of the match were Wallis and Ann Pascoe.

The following week saw newcomers Pensilva enter with impact.

They were well organised and all players seemed able to play well in all positions.

Their opposition, Stoke Climsland, struggled to keep possession and find space to dodge away from their opponents.

Due to earlier starts this year, four full six minute quarters were played enabling Pensilva to capitalise on their dominance, eventually winning 23-0.

Players of the match were Henry Samuels and Helena Rogers.

The next match was much more closely fought. Callington were playing Upton Cross. Callington took the lead quickly, working well as a team.

Upton Cross, however, improved their play during the match, fighting hard to win every pass. Callington always had the edge and eventually won 8-2.

Nominated players were Jessica Longstaff and Alicia England.
