Musical group K’Antu returns to Calstock Arts on the afternoon of Sunday, July 9.

They explore the less-trodden territories of early music, combining elements of folk and world music with historically-informed techniques focusing on the music of Spain and South America – hence the name K’antu which refers to an ancient style of Peruvian and Bolivian music and dance.

Currently promoting their second album, Dancing and the Divine, they have recently featured on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune during their residency at London’s South Bank Centre.

The ensemble features an array of replicas of historic instruments, including Renaissance recorders and drum, baroque violin and guitar, and a Peruvian charango.
