Calstock Arts are presenting a group of musicians based in Cornwall, Kevos, who are playing specially commissioned music to accompany a silent film.

Kevos are appearing on Friday, February 16, performing alongside “I Was Born But...” (1932), by the Japanese film director Yasujiro Ozu, viewed as one of the masterpieces of the silent era: a delightful tale of family life as told from the point of view of two little boys.

Kevos play music, specially commissioned from composer Ed Hughes, live to the film for its 80 minute duration.

The group were formed in 2014 by Patrick Bailey. He has conducted concerts with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, London Sinfonietta, New Music Players, ViVA, English Sinfonia, Cambridge University Music Society and many others.
