Morval Church raised £6,000 in just a week

the Grace Community Church based at Morval, who appealed for cash donations for Kosovan refugees who have fled to Albania, on the front page of last week's Cornish Times, have been staggered by the generous response from readers.

Church member Mike Critchley from Liskeard, contacted the paper on Monday to say that no less than £600 arrived in the post on Saturday morning, but at the time of going to press yesterday (Thursday), that figure had risen to a fantastic £6,000, and money is still arriving.

Grace Church has a direct link in Albania through Pranesh Andlhal, the pastor of a church in Durres and his wife Heather, and were able to answer an immediate call for help from them by sending £750 to help them in their efforts to set up a refugee centre there. Thanks to the generosity of people from all over South East Cornwall they will now be able to send them much more to give immediate and valuable help.

'From all of us at Grace and those refugees in Albania, thank you so much' says Mike.

Donations are being still being gratefully accepted and should be sent to the Grace Community Church (Albania Appeal), Morval, Looe, PL13 1PR. All monies received are sent as soon as received and nothing is deducted for administration costs in this country.
